Agencies Involved

The Attorney General; Minister for Commerce, supported by the Department of Commerce, has lead responsibility for the Australian Marine Complex.

LandCorp, responsible to the Minister for Regional Developments; Lands, is the Western Australian Government’s land and property developer and provides infrastructure and land development services across the state, including the precinct at Henderson. LandCorp is the trading name of the Western Australian Land Authority.

Department of Commerce

The Department of Commerce was established on 1 January 2009 under the Public Sector Management Act 1994 by the re-designation of the Department of Industry and Resources and the transfer of functions from the former Department of Consumer and Employment Protection.

In the context of the Australian Marine Complex, it is responsible to the Attorney General; Minister  for Commerce.

The Department of Commerce facilitates Western Australia's economic development through services to industry that help ensure the State is an attractive place to live and do business.

The Department of Commerce provides services valued by industry and effectively achieves the Government's strategic outcomes for Western Australia. In the context of the Australian Marine Complex, the Department is focused on the attraction of marine, defence and resource companies and projects to the precinct and plays a strategic role in infrastructure planning at Henderson and elsewhere in the State.

LandCorp (The Western Australian Land Authority)

LandCorp, the State Government’s land and property developer, is the trading name of the Western Australian Land Authority.

LandCorp operates under the Western Australian Land Authority Act 1992. In its role as a Government Trading Enterprise, LandCorp develops land for the social and economic needs of the community, while taking into account environmental outcomes.

It operates with an independent Board of Directors and is responsible to the Minister for Regional Development; and Lands.

One of the requirements of LandCorp’s Act is to ensure the land needs of Western Australia are met through the delivery of sufficient heavy, special and general industrial land to support continued economic development of the State.

In the context of the Australian Marine Complex, LandCorp makes common use infrastructure and industrial land available to industry and contributes to strategic land use planning for the Australian Marine Complex.

AMC Management (WA) Pty Ltd

AMC Management (WA) Pty Ltd is a wholly owned Western Australian asset management company.

It has been selected by LandCorp, the Government agency responsible for the overall management of the Australian Marine Complex, to be the facility manager of the Common User Facility (CUF).

In effect, AMC Management (WA) Pty Ltd acts as the agent of LandCorp in managing the CUF.

AMC Management (WA) Pty Ltd also works with the WA State Government (through Department of Commerce) to market the facility to national and international groups involved in marine, defence and resource sectors and to coordinate activities among the various users on-site.
